Coming Soon from Ad Astra Per Aspera Counseling
At Ad Astra Per Aspera Counseling, we are passionate about supporting the whole child—and we know that social emotional learning (SEL) is essential to student success both inside and outside the classroom.
Drawing on over 20 years of experience in PreK–12 public education, as well as a deep understanding of developmental needs, trauma-informed practices, and the ASCA National Model, we are in the process of developing a comprehensive Social Emotional Learning Curriculum for schools, districts, and youth-serving organizations.
This curriculum is being designed to support educators, counselors, and support staff in delivering engaging, age-appropriate SEL content that builds:
Self-awareness and emotional regulation
Empathy and healthy relationship skills
Responsible decision-making and problem-solving
Stress management and coping strategies
Confidence, identity, and resilience
Developmentally-sequenced lessons for elementary, middle, and high school students
Trauma-informed and culturally responsive materials
Aligned with CASEL’s five core competencies and the Kansas Social, Emotional, and Character Development (SECD) standards
Flexible delivery models – ideal for counselors, teachers, paraprofessionals, or small group leaders
Companion resources for families, support staff, and school leadership teams
Training and consultation options to support effective implementation
School counselors looking for easy-to-implement, meaningful SEL lessons
Educators and school teams seeking to integrate SEL into classrooms or advisory periods
